DESCRIPTION:

Essential Systems, Inc. creates customized software and hardware systems for its clients. These systems may typically incorporate servers, workstations, network equipment, video, and field control boxes for an industrial power plant environment. Currently, we are in need of a fabrication, wiring, assembly, and production technician for building of our control boxes. These NEMA 4 control boxes contain various electronic components that must be assembled onto custom panels and wired together within the boxes. Wiring could include serial, Ethernet, and Fiber optic technologies, as well as power and other customized hook-up wiring. Most wiring is low voltage, usually 24VDC and less, with the highest being 120VAC. All assembly and wiring should be professionally built and be attractive in appearance.

POTENTIAL CANDIDATE:

⦁ This candidate could be a recent graduate from a technical school or college in electrical training, with an aptitude for building and wiring.

⦁ This candidate could be a person who likes to work with their hands who might possibly have a shop in the basement/garage where they enjoy building things.

⦁ Shows up to work on time, fit for duty, and ready to work.

SKILLS:

⦁ Good organizational skills

⦁ Basic documentation skills

⦁ Intuitive knowledge on how to get something done with little supervision (you may likely be the only one with this job skill)

⦁ Self-starter

⦁ Mission, team oriented

⦁ Ability to work with multimeters, crimpers, soldering irons, and other tools of the trade

DUTIES:

⦁ Minor modifications to enclosures (drilling, cutting, and assembly as needed)

⦁ Label, wire, and connect control panel terminal boards from wiring diagrams and/or direction

⦁ Check wiring for proper coding and termination; check for shorts, grounds, and continuity

⦁ May participate in testing of completed control panels, and may diagnose and troubleshoot as needed

⦁ Detect defective material, unusual conditions or operating difficulties

⦁ Actively participate in team meetings to communicate and help resolve any cost, quality, or production issues

⦁ Maintain storage of parts

⦁ Being a small company, you may need to be flexible regarding duties. (Wear many hats!)

QUALIFICATIONS:

⦁ Education and experience are a plus, but aptitude is most important

⦁ Must be able to lift at least 30 pounds

⦁ Must pass background check

GROWTH POTENTIAL:

⦁ Possibilities of growth into circuit board development, CAD drawings, firmware writing, system design.

PAY:

⦁ $18.00 - $21.00 per hour
