I am a retired architect and I am looking for a part time construction superintendent for a project to convert a 6,000 square foot warehouse space in Chestertown into artist studios. I am ready to hire the right person next week. Expect about 20 hour a week for the next 4-5 months.
This is a commercial project and I hope to find someone who has worked in the Eastern Shore area and is familiar with local trades people. I want to get at least two bids all the major trades. I need help meeting folks at the site 115 S Lynchburg to show them the space in preparation for their bid and reviewing the bids. All construction will be done by licensed and insured contractors. It helps is you are a licensed contractor but not required as you won't be doing any construction labor.
Since I live in NYC you will be my eyes in the field during construction. Ideally you would work for two hours in the morning getting the days work lined up and scheduling for the next phase of construction. Then you would come back to the site for two hours at the end of the day to check on progress and answer questions from the subs and making sure that the construction flows with limited gaps.
I will be responsible for contracts and billing.
Must be fluent in English and bilingual is a plus.
I will pay promptly via Zelle. The pay scale has not yet been determined.
