WE ARE LOOKING FOR COMMERCIAL ROOFING FOREMEN & HELPERS

WE ARE LOOKING FOR COMMERCIAL ROOFING FOREMEN & HELPERS

Job Type: Full-time

Compensation (based on experience): $16 - $35/hr

Expected hours: 30 – 45 per week

Schedule: Mon-Fri (normal)

Weekends (if/as needed)

I. J&R ROOFING CO., INC. SERVICE DEPARTMENT ROLE

A. Service Department employees respond to our client’s roof repair requests for:

1. Emergency Response (fire/destruction).

2. Leaks (new and onset, recurring, hidden, etc., urgency can vary).

3. Preventive Maintenance Cleaning with Roof Condition Analysis.

4. Custom fit-out flashing(s) and trim for leased spaces transitioning tenants.

5. General requests for roof consultation and information.

II. J&R ROOFING CO., INC. MANAGEMENT EXPECTATIONS OF DEPARTMENT

A. SERVICE HELPERS:

1. Learn everything shown and told, with aim to eventually become a foreman.

2. Aggregate/organize tools both prior and after completion of assigned work.

3. Set ladder and tie-off when using ladder to access roof.

4. Help make efficient all visit activity, i.e. prepare work area and all materials while foreman meets site contact for visit and discusses issue at hand.

5. Once comfortably trained and trusted by foreman partner, install alone and without volition, any repair involving OEM standard products such as Quick Seam tapes layered for patching a hole fond in roof.

6. Responding or better, reporting to duty in the event of an off-hours request.

B. SERVICE FOREMAN:

1. Notating all actions and processes taken per assignment.

2. Effective and efficient communication of all happenings and events transpired per assignment to management.

3. Photographing all work processes and progress as directed by management.

4. Cataloging all materials used in brand, type, and quantity.

5. Training your helper / labor technician and enforcing quality control prior to management review and quality control.

III. J&R ROOFING CO., INC. ELEGIBLE CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

A. In order to gain entry to multiple secure government locations we service, and in turn be considered for permanent hire, J&R Roofing Co., Inc. requires that HELPER MUST HAVE:

1. Full supporting documentation of permanent United States Citizenship.

2. Valid, clean, and current Driver’s License with REAL ID standards

3. Dependable transportation both to and from work.

4. Ability to perform work efficiently and safely in all temperatures and climates.

5. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. materials

6. Ability to climb 50-ft+ ladders

7. Ability to work at great heights without distraction.

8. Ability to work while tethered to safety lines.

9. Ability to pass random drug screen(s), criminal background check(s), and medical physical(s) upon request.

10. Steel toe boots and OTG goggles (if you wear glasses) must be provided by you as employee. J&R will assist in providing any additional required safety items upon hiring.

B. IN ADDITION TO ABOVE, the proper FOREMAN/SUPERVISOR candidate MUST HAVE:

1. Exceptional verbal and written communication skills including proper and appropriate language and grammar vs slang when with audience.

2. Field knowledge of roofing trade from extensive hands-on experience including a mandatory minimum 5-years’ experience with low slowed flat roof systems, coatings, and membranes in general.

3. A positive attitude purveying a leader that motivates and teaches others.

C. PREFERRED BY NOT REQUIRED (BOTH HELPERS AND FOREMEN)

1. Experience with paneling (siding or roofing), shingles, tiles, shakes, slate, and other architectural envelope solutions is preferred but not required.

2. Training in OSHA10, OSHA 30, or Building Engineering/Facilities Maintenance is preferred by not required.
