The Maryland Department of Transportation The Secretary's Office (MDOT TSO) is seeking to hire a Transit Oriented Development (TOD) - Joint Development Team Lead (DOT Executive IV) with innovative ideas and solutions to support MDOT's Transit Oriented Development (TOD) program. The TOD Joint Team Development Lead will be responsible for leading the Joint Development efforts of the Office of Real Estate and Economic Development (ORED) within MDOT. Joint Development entails the successful development of state-owned land as a tool for implementing Transit Oriented Development in the State of Maryland. J ob duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Ensuring joint development efforts are on schedule and issues are appropriately resolved promptly.

Reporting progress and issues to the Chief of Real Estate and Transit-Oriented Development

Developing site plans and strategies for state-owned land, including developing goals for density and housing, connectivity, and multi-modal improvements and crafting implementation strategies and potential grant applications.

Crafting, negotiating, and implementing MDOT's necessary agreements to enable the development of state land for TOD.

Creating partnerships with public and private stakeholders.

Leading public presentations to community, advocacy, and other stakeholder groups

Executing land development solicitations and transactions.

The TOD Joint Development Team Lead will lead a team of up to three project managers responsible for executing ORED’s Joint Development work.

The current vacancy exists at MDOT TSO in the Office of Real Estate and Economic Development, which is located in Hanover, MD. QualificationsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.Experience: Six (6) years of experience in the development field, including executing development agreements and supporting partnerships between public, private, and non-profit organizations. Three (3) years of this experience must include managing teams, making public presentations, and reporting project progress and issues to organization leadership.The ideal candidate will possess:

Experience with transit oriented development practices

Possession of excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Experience working with diverse internal and external customers

Strong analytical skills

Strong collaboration skills

Public speaking experience

Ability to function independently

Ability to perform multiple tasks
