This attorney supervises a group of attorneys providing related legal services in this area and acts as a practicing counsel.PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES· Advises clients with respect to all aspects of the FERC practice area; develops the strategic plan, provides counsel and guidance to Utility officers and executives of corporation regarding legal issues in the areas of FERC regulation and policy.· Represents Exelon in dealing with outside law firms, government representatives and agencies, independent technical experts, court representatives and others in the legal profession as delegated by the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel.· Effectively manages, monitors, and assists in the career development of all attorneys and ensures that appropriate evaluation procedures are conducted major segments of law department and supervises lower level professional and paralegal staff personnel· Prepare, and revise as necessary, budgets and early matter assessments for all matters involving outside counsel. Ensures Exelon is leveraging outside resources in the most cost-effective manner.· Works with entire Exelon legal function to continually improve delivery of legal services for Exelon Utilities relating to FERC.· Perform significant projects / duties as assigned by the General Counsel or Deputy General Counsel.JOB SCOPE· Provides legal services as a practicing counsel and team manager, and directly manages relationships and matters with Business Units and outside counsel.· Able to think strategically and work with Business Units to achieve Company objectives and manage risks· Experienced in project management and supervision of professionals in lower level managementQualificationsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS· An LLB or JD from an accredited law school and be licensed to practice law in the relevant jurisdictions.· At least 12 years of professional experience and widely recognized distinction for his/her specialty practice.· Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge of legal field to the completion of complex assignments.· Extensive knowledge of courts, regulatory agencies, and other applicable legal entities.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSPreferred Location is Washington DC.Benefits

Annual salary will vary based on a candidate's skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $208,800-$313,200

  • We are seeking an Associate Director, Third-Party Billing (TPP) and Student Payments (ADTPBSP) who will report to the Director of University Student Accounts and will oversee a shared service team within the Johns Hopkins University’s (JHU) Student Account and Enrollment Management (SEAM) team. SEAM Student Accounts is a Shared Services Center responsible for all tuition and fee billing (including third-party billing), student payments, refunds, collections, and 1098-T tax reporting supporting all nine Johns Hopkins University schools. The ADTPBSP oversees a staff of six full-time employees. The ADTPBSP will be responsible for the third-party payer sponsorship process across all ten schools within Johns Hopkins University. On average, JHU processes over $250,000,000 in third-party billing annually for the university. The ADTPBSP must provide leadership in the overall management of Third-Party Payments, including planning, supervision, and process improvement recommendations; design, championing, and implementing process enhancements to improve the student experience continually; and provide excellent customer service to the school partners, students, and their families. The ADTPBSP maintains adequate internal controls and creates a positive working environment that supports continuous improvement. They will evaluate processes for efficiency and effectiveness on an ongoing basis, directly manage staff, and serve as second in command to the Director of University Student Accounts in their absence. The ADTPBSP directly supports the Director of University Student Accounts in managing and timely resolving university-wide Student Accounts matters. Functions under the ADTPBSP include direct oversight of third-party student billing and invoicing, managing sponsor relationships, and sponsor reconciliations. Additionally, this person will oversee student payments, and the accuracy and completeness of student financial transactions as recorded in the student billing system and other duties as assigned.
