Description We are excited to offer a contract to hire employment opportunity in the Local Government sector, based in BALTIMORE, Maryland. As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a crucial role in delivering top-notch assistance to our customers, primarily in the area of parking permit acquisition. You will be the point of contact for customers seeking assistance, both in-person and remotely.Responsibilities: Actively engage in community outreach initiatives and educate customers on permit eligibility and the Residential Parking Permit (RPP) program. Maintain open communication with our 46 community groups to assist them in their Parking Plans. Accurately process permit and renewal applications. Manage the permit program database and ensure the accuracy of daily work sheets. Offer support for special projects to your supervisor and team members. Run custom reports for special projects using the permit management system. Assist in issuing special permits for unique parking situations. Coordinate tasks between city agencies, non-profits, churches, and quasi-public nongovernmental organizations. Support Inventory & Permit Control by organizing, filing, and stocking permits for easy access and availability. Set up reports to facilitate understanding and ensure clarity for in-house assessment. Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer service role, preferably within the local government sector Demonstrated skills in customer service and data entry Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize workload effectively Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite and other common software applications Knowledge of local government operations and procedures would be advantageous High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required; a Bachelor's degree would be a plus Ability to work well in a team and contribute positively to the team dynamics Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically High level of professionalism and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information Flexible to work in different shifts, including weekends and public holidays, if required.
