Description/Job SummaryReporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, or design, the incumbent serves as the Director for the Mayor's Scholars (MSP) program and has oversight for Granville T. Woods Scholars, and other special programs. The Director is responsible to the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs for providing leadership and direction in the planning, development, implementation, evaluation, and ongoing improvement for the MSP program and other special programs. The individual is responsible for the daily operations and data collection. The Director provides direct services to students and provides leadership and supervision over assigned staff. The Director is responsible for all reporting functions related to assigned programs.Responsibilities/Duties

Directly performs and supervises staff involved in recruiting, enrolling, and advising program participants.

Provides vision, leadership, and management for assigned special programs.

Responsible for the day to day operations for the Mayor's Scholars Program.

Uses data to drive program design and program implementation, to assess progress and make improvements.

Leads regular internal cross functional workgroup meetings.

Ensures student participants are recruited, oriented, and enrolled into special programs such as MSP, Granville T. Woods, and other programs as assigned.

Regularly runs program reports to determine student participation and overall program effectiveness.

Hires, trains, evaluates, and supervises front line staff to support assigned programs.

Communicates with stakeholders to advance program goals, and outcomes.

Advocates for programs throughout the College and with others for the resources, data and processes required for high standard implementation.

Participates in professional, community and civic activities and organizations that enhance the image and mission of the College and promote program performance and goals.

Serves as the internal/external voice, representative and leadership for special programs.

Coordinates with other support services and instructional areas to ensure maximum student success for program participants.

Collaborates to develop and implement a model for institutional recruitment and retention management plans.

Utilizes technology and data to strengthen the operations, effectiveness, and efficiency of programs.

Seeks external funding sources and grants for program support and student scholarships.

Provides strategies to work with the marketing team to promote institutional identity for programs.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Master's degree from a regionally accredited university in Student Personnel, Higher Education Management, or other related field.

5 years of experience managing related programs such as early college, retention and first year experience programs in higher education institutions.

2 years of experience in college admissions and recruitment.

7 years supervisory experience.

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully with faculty, staff, students, and external organizations.

Significant experience in program design, implementation and evaluation utilizing data analytics and national best practices.

Significant experience with student information systems including Banner, People soft or other similar student information systems.

Ability to work independently, balance multiple tasks, work to meet deadlines, and prioritize a complex workload.

Strong technical skills (Microsoft Office 365 Suite).

Preferred Qualifications

Doctorate degree in Higher Education Management, Student Personnel, or other related field.

10 or more years of directly related experience.

Banner CRM Recruit "Super User".

  • Hopkins Athletics is a multidivisional department with 22 programs competing at the NCAA DIII level and two programs (men’s and women’s lacrosse) competing at the NCAA Division I level (BIG 10 Conference). The department also hosts a variety of robust recreational activities such as club sports, intramurals, and fitness programming.

  • We are seeking an Associate Director, Third-Party Billing (TPP) and Student Payments (ADTPBSP) who will report to the Director of University Student Accounts and will oversee a shared service team within the Johns Hopkins University’s (JHU) Student Account and Enrollment Management (SEAM) team. SEAM Student Accounts is a Shared Services Center responsible for all tuition and fee billing (including third-party billing), student payments, refunds, collections, and 1098-T tax reporting supporting all nine Johns Hopkins University schools. The ADTPBSP oversees a staff of six full-time employees. The ADTPBSP will be responsible for the third-party payer sponsorship process across all ten schools within Johns Hopkins University. On average, JHU processes over $250,000,000 in third-party billing annually for the university. The ADTPBSP must provide leadership in the overall management of Third-Party Payments, including planning, supervision, and process improvement recommendations; design, championing, and implementing process enhancements to improve the student experience continually; and provide excellent customer service to the school partners, students, and their families. The ADTPBSP maintains adequate internal controls and creates a positive working environment that supports continuous improvement. They will evaluate processes for efficiency and effectiveness on an ongoing basis, directly manage staff, and serve as second in command to the Director of University Student Accounts in their absence. This National Guard position is for a DIRECTOR OF INSPECTIONS, Position Description Number NGT5867000 and is part of the MD 175th ANG, National Guard. Responsibilities 1. Plans, organizes, resources, and directs the execution of a wide range of complex inspection activities for the wing Commander\'s Inspection Program (CCIP). Activities include planning and directing inspections that incorporate Department of Defense (DoD), Department of the Air Force (DAF), gaining major command(s) (G-MAJCOMs), National Guard Bureau (NGB), state, wing, local instructions, and laws for regulatory guidance. Oversees compliance, plans, and conducts By-Law, Special Emphasis Items (SEI), Special Interest Items (SII), Command Interest Items (CII) and nuclear assurance inspections as outlined by requirements from the DoD, DAF, NGB, and G-MAJCOM. Routinely required to interpret and incorporate complex laws, and guidance from all levels for the creation of inspection plans throughout the wing. Develops and communicates a continuously evaluated Risk Based Sampling Strategy (RBSS). The RBSS is designed to provide commanders a tool to use when determining resource allocation to areas of concern to help identify undetected non-compliance. 2. Applies an extensive knowledge of installation operations and DoD, DAF, and G-MAJCOM guidance to direct complex strategic planning and exercise efforts. Designs CIMB that is a presentation of wing/unit CCIP and unit self-assessment programs (USAP) focused on proactive mitigation of deficiencies or risks. Manages the compilation of data, the format and usability of the commander\'s dashboard as well as the data presentation during the CIMB. Works directly with commanders at all levels to assist in the identification of key deficiencies, key observations, and overall program effectiveness. 4. Oversees and manages the WIT conducting inspection and exercise activities. Ensures the WIT consist of subject matter experts to conduct CCIP inspections and exercises under the authority of the Wing/center Commander. Validates WIT members\' understanding, and application of security principles and their ability safeguard classified information ensuring they are aware of applicable security classification guides. Oversees WIT training, product development and certification. Identifies and evaluates training requirements to ensure all assigned inspectors are fully capable of executing an inspection/exercise plan. Explains performance expectations to WIT members and provides regular feedback. 5. Serves as a qualified complaint resolution representative providing advisory services to individuals, other staff offices, managers, supervisors, and employees concerning the IG program and processes. Conducts IG complaint, Fraud, Waste and Abuse (FWA), and whistleblower intake by interacting directly with unit members and employees, protects confidentiality of complainants, and ensures a thorough and complete complaint is presented to the IG. Comprehends complex procedures outlined in IG regulations and directives and applies them to the handling of conventional investigations, complaints, and Congressional inquiries to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of the IG Program are maintained to help prevent unwarranted invasions of privacy. Represents the Wing IG, at conferences, meetings, seminars, briefings, and other official functions. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with NGB/IG, NGB staffs, MAJCOM staffs, State IGs, and wing leadership at all levels on matters concerning all IG programs.
