Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant with specialized skills in billing to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting principles, particularly in project accounting and billing processes. They will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, maintaining financial records, and supporting project teams in financial matters. This Contract to Hire opportunity is located in Baltimore, MD area.Responsibilities:Billing Process Management:Oversee the entire billing process for multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.Review project contracts and agreements to understand billing terms and requirements.Generate invoices based on project milestones, time and materials, or other billing arrangements.Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to verify billable expenses and hours.Address billing discrepancies and resolve any issues in a timely manner.Financial Reporting:Maintain comprehensive billing records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes.Prepare regular financial reports detailing billing activities, outstanding invoices, and revenue forecasts.Analyze billing data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate recording and reporting of billing-related transactions.Requirements - Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

General ledger experience highly desired
Strong familiarity with Computerized Billing
Prior experience with Billing Functions
General familiarity with Account Adjustments
Previous experience working with Code Invoices
Project Billing experience highly valued
Knowledge of Billing System
Background working with Prepare Journal Entries
Demonstrated knowledge of Month-end Journal Entries
Demonstrated knowledge of account analysis
Adeptness in Ledger Journal Entries
Billing Statements experience desired
Adeptness in Aging Accounts
Practical knowledge of Post Journal Entries
General familiarity with Monthly Journal Entries
Posting Journal Entries experience highly preferred
Strong familiarity with General Accounting
Billing software experience preferred
Accounts Receivable (AR) experience highly desired
Earlier work involving Journal Entry
Comprehension of Automated billing
Experience with billing
Foundational knowledge in General Journal
Excel Formulas experience
Hands-on experience with Billing Collection
