The Office of Research Integrity (ORI) occupies a unique position in the School of Medicine (SOM). ORI manages investigations into allegations of research misconduct and oversees proceedings of professional misconduct for tenured faculty. We are seeking a Research Integrity Administrative Coordinator who will provide high-level and complex administrative support to the ORI staff and reports to the Director of ORI.The Research Integrity Administrative Coordinator will manage workflow within the office. When necessary, will coordinate efforts to obtain, collect and maintain original materials for research integrity investigations and act as the initial point of contact. He/she will exercise independent judgment to ensure that investigative matters proceed on schedule and that the administrative day-to-day responsibilities of the ORI Division are addressed in an appropriate and timely manner. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to, organizing and helping in the initial sequestration of data from various locations and departments or divisions within the SOM, management of materials collected, compilation and maintenance of systems for data organization, cataloging sequestered data, scheduling critical and often confidential meetings that involve multiple participants, maintaining intricate calendars, routine correspondence, and special projects as assigned.Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Coordinating and performing administrative duties for several team members, providing confidential document gathering, management and support, assisting with project activities and maintaining a high level of detail.

Analyze/optimize operating practices such as record keeping systems, forms control, creating new systems or revising established procedures.

Represent the department as appropriate in communicating professionally with faculty, administrators, staff, and external contacts to respond to questions, resolve administrative problems and issues, and gather data as needed.

Interpret operating policies of the University and the Hospital.

Exercise independent judgment in the resolution of administrative problems.

Work closely with our administration team to carry out the administrative tasks necessary for smooth operation of projects.

Locate and compile information and format reports, graphs, tables, records and other sources of information to be used as exhibits to write reports and as presentations.

Assemble and categorize facts and figures for written computation and calculations.

Assist with planning educational program.

Operate personal computer to access e-mail, electronic calendars, and other basic office support software.

Use various software applications, such as spreadsheets, relational databases, statistical packages, and graphics packages to assemble, manipulate and/or format data and/or reports.

Maintain staff’s calendar, projects, and appointment management.

Edit and convert graphic images to proper format for inclusion in a presentation and/or manuscript.

Qualifications

Requires a minimum of high school diploma, and at least 5 years of related experience. Additional education may substitute for some experience to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula. Candidate must be very well organized, able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, often involving sensitive information, with attention to detail and professionalism. Must be able to independently develop and manage complex and key administrative projects. Excellent accuracy, prooing skills, interpersonal, written, and verbal skills required. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.

Minimum Qualifications

Five years progressively responsible administrative experience

Preferred Qualifications

Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in paralegal studies, or equivalent experience.

Experience in an academic medical institution, research environment, or research affairs office.
