Research Technologist

We are seeking a Research Technologist to work under the general supervision of a faculty investigator or laboratory supervisor. Will be responsible for performing routine analyses and tests on animal or human fluids and/or tissue or cultured cell lines. The candidate will isolate tumor cell derived exosomes and study their properties in vivo in mouse models of metastasesSpecific Duties & Responsibilities

Will use experience to isolate and characterize exosomes.

Will use basic scientific methods, procedures and techniques gained through previous training and experience.

Will use basic understanding of theory behind experiments and will apply basic analytical skills to implement assigned projects, and to identify and trouble-shoot situations needing special attention.

Follows established procedures or protocols and utilizes aseptic technique to perform laboratory tests and/or experiments which may include basic tissue culture, cell separation methods, electrophoretic separations, assays, basic molecular biology, or other specialized histology and biological science techniques.

Will utilize in vivo models in experiments.

Will monitor inventory levels, orders materials and supplies in accordance with established policies and procedures, counts orders upon receipt.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Chemistry or related field.

Preferred Qualifications

Some related post-undergraduate work experience.

  • As part of a team, we are seeking a Sr. Research Specialist whose primary purpose is the operation of the SOM Microscope Facility as a core facility that provides both access to equipment and any client services related to the equipment.
