We are seeking a Sr. Financial Analyst who will be responsible for financial forecasting and projections using trend analysis. This position is also responsible for capital budgeting and providing budgetary support for all interdivisional activities. The analyst performs these functions for non-sponsored activities across the Krieger School. Utilizes knowledge of the university's financial accounting systems and appropriate applications of the school’s policies and procedures.Specific Duties & ResponsibilitiesFinancial Reporting and Strategic Guidance

Assist in preparation of five and ten-year strategic financial plan.

Quarterly variance analysis.

Prepare summary data and dashboards for senior leadership.

Performs complex statistical, cost and financial analysis of data reported in various JHU systems.

Interprets data to determine past financial performance and/or to project future financial performance.

Administer financial aspects of Bloomberg Distinguished Professors and other interdivisional initiatives.

Administer monthly statement distribution and verification of regular statement reconciliation using SharePoint.

Monitor and resolve financial discrepancies within KSAS using various reporting and analysis tools.

Serve as a liaison between the business office and unit areas such as Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.

Financial Administration

Serve as a liaison between the business office and unit areas such as Purchasing, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable.

Records, classifies, and summarizes financial transactions and events in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Field routine questions on all modules of SAP and Analysis reporting.

Maintain and update financial policies for distribution and posting on intranet.

Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Creating Dashboards with Power BI.

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Ability to interpret financial reports.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills and strong attention to details and accuracy.

Must have strong oral and written communication skills.

Ability to make independent judgements and to act on decisions on a daily basis required.

Ability to work for extended periods of time without direction, prioritize own work, work with flexibility in several tasks simultaneously and to meet concurrent deadlines also required.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.

Five years progressively responsible related financial/accounting experience.

Additional education (master's in a related field) may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with other data reporting tools.

Strong knowledge of SAP or similar ERP preferred.

Experience in Higher Education financial management.
