Artifact Coffee is a high volume, busy cafe in the heart of Hampden working closely with local farms and seasonal ingredients. The role involves working to high standards, lots of independent work, time management, and an eye for quality.
Responsibilities:
Maintain cleanliness and proper food handling. This includes but is not limited to heating, holding, cooling, storage, labeling, dating, and general cleaning. Artifact’s kitchen is open to the dining room and it is important that the station is presentable at all times.
Follow established recipes precisely. Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, at high quality, and in a timely fashion. Engage with Kitchen Manager to respond to guest feedback and ensure all food meets standards.
Facilitate kitchen organization, including line and prep spaces, kitchen equipment, and proper storage and labeling of food. Help to continue a culture of care for our space and tools, with a team focused on cleanliness and organization as part of our daily practice.
Adhere to all policies as provided by HR regarding staff disciplinary action, onboarding, anti-discrimination, harassment, ethical behavior, and any other policy defined in the Handbook or otherwise.
Maintain a positive and professional approach with the team and guests.
Qualifications:
2+ years of experience
An enthusiasm for locally sourced food
Strong attention to detail, organization, and cleanliness
Accuracy and speed in executing tasks
Ability to work and collaborate as a team member
ServSafe certified preferred
Dependable and motivated to learn, with excellent communication skills
