We're a small, made-from-scratch, "Main Street" bakery in Westminster that specializes in making people happy! We prepare classic and innovative "old-world" breads, desserts and pastries and we're on the hunt for an energetic, enthusiastic baker to join our kitchen Croo! We're in need of someone NOW, but will patiently wait until the right candidate comes along (rather than just fill the slot).
The baker we're seeking has solid dry measurement and scale chops, enjoys being elbow-deep in dough, and feels comfortable with a pastry bag in their hands. Familiarity with sweet and savory baking in any or all of the following areas; cake decoration, breads, scones, cookies, muffins and lamination are all of interest to us.
Experience trumps education, and attitude trumps ALL, but we are looking for someone with professional baking experience who is prepared to roll up their sleeves and start baking. This is NOT a training or beginning opportunity. If you're a recent graduate of a career and tech or culinary program, if you have the "knack" as well as some demonstrable experience, and you have a burning desire to develop your skills and refine your technique, you could be the one we're looking for! (We will consider baking students seeking internship/externship opportunities)
We insist upon cleanliness from start to finish, as well as the flexibility to work around the peaks and valleys of the holiday season and special orders. This is a full-time position, so expect to work 30-35 hours per week on average, and plan to start your day very early in the morning. We work hard, we have fun and we enjoy making our amazing community of customers smile!
Our compensation is VERY competitive, and we are CLOSED on Sunday & Monday, which means you get a real honest-to-goodness TWO DAY WEEKEND every week that includes part of the weekend! We close at 3:00P so most of the day is yours, and we SELDOM open in the evenings!
