Key Responsibilities

Greet and welcome patients and visitors to the practice

Maintain the schedule for accuracy

Answer and respond to telephone calls with professionalism

Manage Patient and Records Management

Check in patients and verify and update patient information to include insurance

Manage recall and inactive patient system

Confirm appointments according to protocol and patient preferences

Schedule patients for efficient use of doctor and staff time

Utilize patient unscheduled quick-fill list to try to fill in cancellation and no-show appointment times

Assume over-the-counter collections at the time of treatment

Make follow-up appointments as needed

Prepare financial treatment plans and present plan options to patient at end of their appointment

Submit treatment plans for predetermination of benefits

Prepare and submit dental claims with appropriate radiographs or narratives as directed by the Dentist

Mail or electronically submit claim forms from office

Sort, organize, and distribute USPS mail

Post checks received each day

Accounts Receivable Management

Prepare bank deposits

Prepare billing statements

Follow-up with aging insurance claims and delinquent accounts

Prepare collections correspondence for overdue accounts

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge of dental terminology and dental office procedures

Knowledge of Dental Practice Management Software

Computer skills: Microsoft Office Programs

Strong Interpersonal and communication skills

Able to multi-task and meet deadlines

Professional manner and appearance at all times

Qualifications High school diploma

2 years dental office experience desired
