We are seeking a Home Caregiver with basics in ASL in Towson MD to become a part of our team! The ideal Home Caregiver would play a crucial role in fostering independence and enhancing the quality of life for individuals, particularly autistic children, who require care support services. This position is for compassionate individuals who understands and can communicate using sign language and are dedicated to making a difference through care, guidance, and skill-building and are committed to empowering vulnerable populations to achieve greater self-reliance and personal growth. be required to resume as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and mobility, tailored to the individual's needs and abilities.
Provide companionship and emotional support through active listening, empathy, and meaningful engagement to foster social and emotional well-being.
Promote a safe environment by identifying hazards, addressing safety concerns, and ensuring the security of the individuals under your care.
Work effectively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated care and address concerns or changes in care plans.
Monitor and report changes in patient health status.
Qualifications and Skills
Experience in hospice, home health, or other related fields
Understand and can communicate using American Sign Language (ASL).
100 hrs of experience working with kids with disability, preferably Autism (experience can include shadowing, volunteering, or supporting family members).
High school diploma or equivalent required.
CPR and First Aid certification required
Empathy and a genuine desire to help others.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Patience, adaptability, and a calm demeanor in challenging situations.
Reliability, punctuality, and adherence to schedules.
At least one year of experience working as a home caregiver.
