As a Processing Clerk you will provide support and high-quality customer service to our members (employees). The incumbent must process paperwork efficiently to ensure timely coverage for prescribed services as well as adjustments for over/under payments. The Processing Clerk must be able to meet deadlines and demonstrate excellent attention to details.
Masters, Mates and Pilots Benefit Plans are multi-employer benefit plans that were established pursuant to collective bargaining agreements between signatory companies and the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots (MM&P) and provide health, pension, vacation, training and 401(k) benefits primarily to members of MM&P. MM&P members are professional mariners that include US-Coast Guard licensed masters and mates on US-flag commercial vessels on international voyages, on the inland waterways and on civilian-crewed ships in the federal government fleet, and masters, mates and other marine personnel who work on tugs, ferries, dredges and harbor tour vessels throughout the United States.
Duties:
-Review claims for accuracy, completeness and plan coverage
- Accurately interpret benefits per Summaries and apply during claims review process
- After final verification, submit claims and confirm receipt by appropriate recipient
- Communicate effectively with members to explain available benefit options
- Address benefits questions and issues from members and major insurance carriers
-Process benefit claims and reimbursements in a timely manner
- Provide exceptional customer service
Qualifications:
- HS/GED required
-Experience coordinating and processing claims/documents for ee benefit plans
- One year experience working in a customer/member service environment
- Knowledge of health/benefit rules/regulations and medical terms such as CPT & ICD
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Zoom and Teams

Pay: $15.18 per hour. Hours: 35 per week
