We are seeking a Bilingual (English/Spanish) skilled and dependable Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the day-to-day operations of school buildings. This role primarily focuses on hands-on maintenance and repair work, while also assisting with cleaning, room setups, and general facility upkeep as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs including:
- Minor plumbing (toilets, sinks, leaks, flush valves)
- Basic electrical (lights, switches, ballasts, outlets, etc.)
- Door/hardware adjustments and replacements
- General building repairs and preventative maintenance
- Troubleshoot facility issues and respond to maintenance requests
- Conduct safety checks and report building concerns proactively
- Assist with cleaning tasks where needed, ensuring school spaces remain safe and presentable
- Set up and break down furniture, equipment, and rooms for classes, programs, and events
- Maintain organized workspaces, supplies, and tools
Qualifications:
- Hands-on maintenance or repair experience required
- Familiarity with basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, or general facility systems
- Experience in janitorial or commercial cleaning environments a plus
- Ability to lift, move, and set up furniture and equipment
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently with good communication skills
- Professional demeanor appropriate for school and community environments
