Baltimore law firm in Mt. Vernon has an opening for FT or PT paralegal or legal assistant with at least 3 years of experience with personal injury claims; criminal defense or other areas a plus. Must be able to work independently, have experience in all aspects of processing personal injury claims (including intake, requesting medical records, processing PIP claims, resolving CMS liens, preparing demand packages as well as familiar with the litigation process). Strong organizational and communication skills are required.
Must be professional, good sense of humor in a relaxed but busy office, at-ease with clients and co-workers, and able to multi-task.
Will have a wide range of duties and responsibilities including:
- Maintaining telephone contact with clients, adjusters and court personnel;
- Composing and maintaining correspondence;
- Handling personal injury claims (see above); and
- Word processing, editing and proof-reading.
Additional Requirements:
- Knowledge of Maryland state court systems and procedures, to include ECF and EFiling;
- Solid verbal and written communication skills;
- 60 wpm typing;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word) and other office equipment;
- Willingness to perform other related duties, as required.
