Hours: Tuesday - Saturday (36-40 hours/week):
This role oversees our front retail area at Charm City Cakes in Baltimore. No prior culinary experience is required for this customer facing role.
The ideal candidate will embody a positive, proactive attitude and possess strong organizational skills. Attention to detail, exceptional communication abilities, and a customer-centric approach are essential for success in this role.
Responsibilities:
Customer Service:
- Engage with customers warmly and assist them with inquiries, both in person and over the phone.
- Serve customers with a smile, take orders accurately, and facilitate curbside pickup requests.
- Ensure every visitor has a positive experience at our bakery.
- Answer visitors’ questions about Chef Duff and the history of Charm City Cakes.
Employee Management:
- Train and support retail staff, providing guidance and addressing inquiries as needed.
- Schedule and oversee retail shifts, providing support as needed.
Retail Space Management:
- Maintain cleanliness and appeal of the retail area and front of the building to enhance customer experience.
- Keep merchandise stocked, priced, and organized.
- Keep bakery fridge and bakery case stocked with fresh goods, priced, and organized.
Financial and Sales Management:
- Balance registers, make bank deposits, and track credit card transactions accurately.
- Monitor online platforms for orders, manage inventory, and communicate promptly with customers.
- Handle billing, manage outgoing mail, and process merchandise sales efficiently.
Self-Management:
- Maintain effective communication with department heads and manage personal workload efficiently.
- Initiate and manage projects to enhance and grow the retail program that align with our goals and objectives.
- Prioritize tasks and manage retail staff efficiently and independently.
