Apprentice Technician
Honda PowerSports of Crofton is seeking qualified individuals to apply for an Apprentice Technician. We sell and service mainly Honda products such as; Motorcycles, ATVs, SXS, Scooters, Personal Watercraft, Outboard Motors and Boats, Lawn Mowers, Generators, Snow Blowers and the full line of Honda Outdoor Power Products. It is our goal to hire an individual and train them on mechanical repairs through On-line courses, on the job training and experience so they can contribute to the success of the business. Good starting pay with increases as you progress in position.
The successful candidate needs the following;
Valid Driver’s License with clean driving record (approved by our insurance carrier)
A valid Motorcycle License OR the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment.
Basic Computer skills
Mechanical aptitude
Basic mechanic’s hand tools
The willingness to learn the business from the bottom-up which means doing any job big or small from cleaning boats and bikes to oil changes.
Boating License a plus
The person hired will be expected to achieve the following;
In the first 3 Months of employment
Be able to move product safely and damage free on our property
Perform a PDI on any product we sell
Build a new unit from the crate
Perform a pre-rental inspection
Obtain a motorcycle license if necessary
In the first 3-9 Months of employment
In addition to items above
Complete the “Bronze” Level Training for Honda PowerSports products
Be able to complete “Express” Service work such as; oil change, basic tire change, battery replacement and small accessory installation.
After 12 Months of employment
In addition to items above
Complete Power Equipment and Marine Training on-line
Be able to move into a Technician position is our shop. Depending on the candidates skill and development, the business need at the time will dictate whether specialization or an overall position will be developed.
