NPosition Type ManagementJOB SUMMARYManages the relationship with business discipline teams to plan technology investments in Marriott’s Data Platform, develop technology product strategy/roadmaps, uncover solutions, inform demand management and address escalations. Leads the businessplanning and modeling phases for proposed product enhancements with an understanding of business priorities and the ability to clearly articulate IT capabilities. Manages multiple medium to large-scale functional and cross-functional initiativesthat require coordination across business disciplines and IT teams. Builds relationships and collaborates with Global Technology and Business teams across the enterprise to delivery data initiatives. Leads direct reports providing coaching and mentoring to enable Associate growth and advancement within the organization. Manages complex budgets in excess of $10M in direct and indirect costs. Clearly and articulately communicates the need for data-driven decision making, prioritization, and execution of key strategies needed to optimize product portfolio performance aligned with strategic objectives.CANDIDATE PROFILEEducation and ExperienceMinimum Qualifications:

10+ years relevant work experience with:

Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience/certification.

5+ years recent experience with modern Enterprise Data platforms including Cloud Data Platform, Business Intelligence, and Cloud Data Warehouse technologies

5+ years of mentoring and team building experience

3+ years developing and executing strategic technology plans and/or project portfolios at Director or equivalent level

3+ years managing direct reports

3+ years managing teams in an Agile environment

Management of complex budgets of at least $2M direct and indirect costs

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, flexing to the audience

Experienced at converting business needs into technology requirements and working within IT to manage the execution of projects and product enhancements

Experienced at cross functional collaboration with senior leaders and peers to clearly articulate product vision and desired functionality

Ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, and decide and influence appropriate course of action

Experience working with cross functional team to build a prioritized backlog of artifacts for multiple products

Experience with converting large business initiatives into business requirement epics that can be sourced into user stories

Preferred Qualifications:

10 years’ experience in medium- or large-scale project management across diverse application areas and technologies.

Graduate/post graduate degree.

Certified Scrum Product Owner

Project Management Certification.

Knowledge of S3, EMR, Athena, Snowflake, Tableau and PowerBI, Python and Machine Learning tools

Demonstrated knowledge of Data Management and Reporting/Analytics related business functions and applications.

Familiarity with Marriott’s existing information architecture, application portfolio, and information management methodology

Excellent analytical skills where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult.

Proven ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment

Proven experience in planning, budgeting, and analysis within one or more business groups.

Ability to articulate complex technical ideas in easy to understand be Executive and Business terms and effectively communicate with executive and delivery teams.

Experience with development of program and project standards in a sourced environment.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and with others.

Experience with business process re-engineering.

Demonstrated knowledge of supported disciplines.

Strong process management, negotiating, influencing, and problem resolution skills.

Ability to understand and communicate the lifecycle of technologies and applications and to translate into business strategies for the client organizations.

Experience developing and executing multi-year plans.

Solid understanding of GT financial structures and ability to manage corporate financial processes and standards - including drivers of process costs

Provides thought leadership to business/discipline to align iT processes with business strategies

In collaboration with the discipline, leads development of Data Platform and Analytics technology roadmaps

Facilities forums for data governance and portfolio management and prioritization

Serves as the escalation point of contact; leads efforts to resolve escalated issues

Prepares and delivers presentations on technology investments

Creates a shared vision for solutions and facilitates decision making. Negotiates trade-offs within and across different solution platforms.

Drives consensus amongst other functions relative to the timing of solution introduction and technology retirement

Identifies, evaluates, and presents new solution opportunities to address gaps

Fosters strong discipline relationships to fully understand business needs

Program Management

Leads modeling and planning phases for new initiatives under consideration

Leads effort to document business goals and high-level requirements

Drives collaboration with Platform Engineering, Enterprise Architecture and Infrastructure Delivery to confirm proposed solutions are compatible with IT standards

Accountable for the development of thorough and accurate business requirements, validating that solutions will meet discipline needs prior to development.

Manages and is accountable for business case development. Partners with business stakeholders and GT leaders to complete business cases by providing relevant IT information and monitoring its ability to meet all relevant IT standards.

Aligns projects with technology roadmaps and technology enterprise architecture.

Incorporates project plans, costs, schedules, and deliverables to meet business need and in support of the business case.

Monitors project risk management and creates or identifies/directs mitigation plans for each risk.

Financial, Contract and Risk Management

Collaborates with discipline partners to develop annual budgets

Partners with other technology groups to provide financial transparency to discipline partners

Manages technology roadmaps to guide solutions along a common path as well as retirement or migration of lesser-used or expensive to maintain technologies.

Aligns with Security and Privacy to validate that processes are followed to protect and secure customer and/or associate data

Engages with Vendor Relations to develop service agreements with external companies on behalf of the discipline
