Description Robert Half has a career-building opportunity for a Staff Accountant with experience and skill to join their team on a permanent basis. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. Throughout the monthly close, you will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting. You will lend your skills in assisting the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position plays an intricate part in producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. What you get to do every day
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process by preparing monthly financial close workbooks
Ad hoc reporting and performing special projects upon request
Regularly maintain and reconcile journal entries
In-depth experience with month end balance sheet account reconciliations
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Compose thorough journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
Organize and review various financial data, then report it in a manner that is useful and understandable
Perform the month end close and produce journal entries under minimal supervision
Participate in various department-wide initiatives
Intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Requirements
2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Balance Sheet Account Reconciliation experience desired
Experience with fund accounting
Deep understanding of Accounts Payable (AP)
Knowledge of general ledger
Cash Activity experience preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
Skilled with ERP systems
Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Fully formed organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Attention to detail and demonstrated ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement
