We’re looking for a dedicated professional eager to make a difference in the lives of patients and program results.The Vice President of Clinical Operations provides oversight and direction for workers’ compensation Vocational Rehabilitation, Telephonic, and Field Nurse case management operations and outcomes.The Vice President of Clinical Operations is expected to consistently ensure excellent clinical services are provided to all program beneficiaries, to ensure positive program outcomes and quality.Key Responsibilities
Superior leadership skills. Motivate and lead a high-performance management team; lead and oversee all clinical operations
Effective leadership and coaching of a team of professionals, exercising the leadership experience to ensure that SGS/Managed Care Advisors builds a compelling, client-oriented organization supporting Commercial and Federal customers and stakeholders.
Oversee structure and budget for all Clinical Services, including staffing, working closely with Program Management and Finance.
Oversee Implementation of contracted Clinical services and requirements with ongoing evaluation of compliance and enhancements.
Collaborate with Program Management to ensure clinical vendors and sub-noncontractors carry out assigned responsibilities
Assure compliance with requirements for licensing, certification, security, and government regulations.
Work with the clinical team in establishing and enhancing policies and protocols regarding case management and vocational rehabilitation products and services.
Collaborate with the Chief Medical Officer and/or Medical Directors to ensure approved evidence-based guidelines and/or client-approved resources are used to guide policy and procedure
Represent SGS/MCA broadly to all external audiences, help to hire, onboard, and retain SGS/MCA's top talent across service and technical areas, contribute to our setting of SGS/MCA's strategy, make budget and talent decisions, and build expertise in all areas of the business.
Establish and revise structure and budget for all assigned services, including medical services staffing, working closely with the CFO and VP of Operations.
Support business development to include client/potential client meetings, participate in RFI review, bid/no-bid decisions, and RFP responses.
Serve as a member of the leadership team, including an ongoing collaboration with Program Management and SGS/MCA leaders.
Experience in building teams, managing, hiring, and developing people. Successfully manage the team's workload and resources.
Provide staff with timely feedback through scheduled guidance/coaching sessions and midyear/ annual evaluations. This includes active coaching and engaging colleagues to enhance their performance and commitment. Assist colleague to develop skills needed to achieve optimal performance and strong performance in their role.
Recruit, hire, and train Clinical Operations Directors, and Managers as a result of company growth or attrition
Supervise and mentor the Clinical Services Managers and Directors as outlined in the position job descriptions
Conduct periodic reviews of cases for quality improvement, actively and serve on quality improvement and other committees, as assigned
Collaborate with the Quality and Training Department to develop and deliver educational services for clinical personnel.
Collaborate with Quality Management to ensure all contract-required audits and training are completed according to requirements
Actively resolve employee conflict through improvement efforts, multi-disciplinary strategies, problem-solving skills, and conflict management. Make timely decisions based on the evaluation of outcomes and communicate the results effectively so that the employee understands the reason behind the decision.
Qualifications
Master's Degree Required in Health Care or Business Administration related field
Bachelor’s Degree Required
At least 20 years of experience in Health Care, with at least 5 years of experience in workers' compensation, occupational health, or disability management
At least 10 years of progressively increasing level of leadership.
Customer Service experience in the medical field preferred
Medical terminology expertise preferred
Excellent organizational and analytical skills. Superior customer service skills working proactively and collaboratively with Federal research, compliance, and policy staff and stakeholders to implement and enhance internal and external management reports and public-facing data analysis. Effectively present information to different audiences.
Excellent leader and team player; ability to partner with internal clients and other cross-functional departments; recalibrates the staff team structure whenever needed.
Superior writing and communication skills. Must write succinctly and clearly and explain complex situations in plain English to technical and non-technical audiences.
Utilizes direct communication and proactive problem-solving to address internal organizational challenges and disagreements.
Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires intermediate analytical and quantitative skills.
Skilled in personnel management, budget, and resource development, and Excellent people skills, with an ability to partner with a dynamic leadership team
Ability to work well in a team environment, with a minimal degree of supervision, to handle a heavy workload, to prioritize work for self and team, and to meet assigned deadlines
Strong people, organizational, and analytical skills (including attention to detail).
Proficient Computer Software (SW) Skills: Overall Business SW (e.g. MS Office Suite)
May perform other duties, as needed, to meet the needs of the business
Ability to travel 25%
