The Charlotte Hotel and Restaurant and La Tavola in Onancock VA are seeking skilled Line Cooks to join our team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking delicious meals in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and gathering spices
- Cook food items according to recipes and menu specifications
- Ensure food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and presentation standards
- Monitor food stock levels and communicate any shortages or discrepancies to the kitchen manager
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including proper storage of ingredients and utensils
- Assist with meal preparation during busy periods or as needed
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient operations
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Line Cook or in a similar role within the food industry
- Knowledge of food safety guidelines and proper food handling techniques
- Proficiency with kitchen equipment, such as knives, grills, and stovetops
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
