Certified Nurse Midwife Responsibilities
-Guide women through each stage of pregnancy
-Follow-up care of mothers and babies
-Assist OB/GYN with patient diagnoses and treatment
-Gather thorough patient medical information
-Assist women in generating care plans
-Conducting exams and tests
-HIV counseling and education
Certified Nurse Midwife Qualifications
-Certified by the American College of Nurse Midwives
-Certified midwife with a master's in Nursing
-Must have state licensing
-Knowledgeable in the areas of clinical medicine, pharmacology, anatomy and making a diagnosis
-Ability to accurately evaluate health status
-Able to skillfully diagnose and treat medical issues and create care appropriate plans
-Skilled in gathering patient data and using that to take appropriate action
