Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Carpet Installer Helper to join our team. This role involves assisting with the installation of carpets in both residential and commercial settings throughout Salisbury and Ocean City, Maryland. While prior experience is beneficial, we are willing to train the right candidate who demonstrates a strong work ethic and eagerness to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist lead installers in measuring, cutting, and laying carpet according to specified dimensions and patterns.
Prepare surfaces by cleaning and leveling areas before installation.
Remove old carpeting and padding; clean and maintain work areas during and after installation.
Transport materials and tools to and from job sites, ensuring all necessary equipment is available and in good condition.
Join carpet edges and seams using appropriate methods, such as sewing or using tape with glue and a heated carpet iron.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in carpet installation or a related field is preferred but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting heavy materials, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to the shop or job sites.
