Self-Storage Maintenance

Overall responsibility: This position is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of our self-storage facility and grounds. Duties include being able to work both inside and outside.

Primary functions: The Storage Maintenance Worker is a first line representative to the facilities customers and supports the Facility Manager. The Storage Maintenance may be either full or part time (10-99) and may also be assigned to multiple sites to provide support or fill in as needed. This position is responsible for ensuring that company standards of cleanliness and appearance are met or exceeded.

This is an hourly position that will require 10 – 15 hours per week including weekends.

Job duties include:

Maintain the property and grounds for a clean and professional appearance

Clean vacant storage units and perform any minor repairs on latches & doors

Grounds maintenance - light mowing, pulling weeds, & hedge trimming

Remove trash and moving items

Cleaning hallways, common areas, storage areas, windows and gutters

Daily security walks and weekly audits

Ensure all equipment is maintained in working order, including repairs

Light office work may be required on occasion

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School or equivalent

1+ year of property and grounds maintenance experience

Ability to manage priorities and workflow

Ability to work independently and communicate to supervisor

Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

Ability to use power tools and a computer

Commitment to excellence and high standards

Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) used in the workplace

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

Frequently required to stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders

Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity to operate equipment and tools

Frequently required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl

Frequently required to lift/push/carry items 100+ pounds

Frequently utilize visual acuity

Supervisory Responsibilities: The Maintenance person has no supervisory responsibilities.

Compensation: Hourly Non- Exempt minimum number of hours10-32 per week
