Composites technician will fabricate boat parts using fiberglass, resin, and other composite materials. Composites technician will repair damage to fiberglass and carbon boat hulls and other parts. S/he should be able to provide labor and materials estimates for repairs and new parts. Composites technician must be knowledgeable in the use of structural e-glass, epoxy, vinylester, and polyster resin systems. S/he must be familiar with the proper personal protective equipment (PPE) and storage for chemicals. Composites technician will be able to assess project needs, submit parts and materials requests and estimates, erect scaffolding or staging, and maintain a clean work area and equipment. S/he will work well as a team member, communicate effectively with co-workers and supervisors, and follow regulatory guidelines and safety standards.
All open positions at Cape Charles Yacht Center are full-time, 40-hour-per-week jobs with occasional overtime. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Hourly rate is dependent upon experience.
