Landcraft Growers, LLC is located on the Delmarva Peninsula just North of Easton MD, 45 minutes from Annapolis and Delaware Beaches. We are a wholesale grower of annuals, tropicals and perennials. We grow a broad variety of plants and offer multiple programs to our customers throughout the year. We sell our product to Garden Centers, Public & Botanic Gardens, Estates, Municipalities and to the Landscape Trade.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Production Manager
Work alongside Head Grower to schedule crop care in a timely fashion to ensure the highest quality for our customers
Oversee employees working on production and planting line, responsibilities follow:
a) Ensure the correct plants are being planted in the correct pots
b) Ensure the correct tag, tag style and tag quantity are correct
c) Oversee space allocation in greenhouse with Head Grower
d) Be able to follow a schedule and organize daily tasks in proficient order
e) Record number of pots/trays planted and locations in inventory software
f) Record production metrics and analyze trends
g) Oversee safety of workers and workspace cleanliness
h) Preform stock plant maintenance with direction of Head Grower
i) Oversee taking cuttings of stock plants, making sure that sanitation and consistency is at the highest level possible.
Maintain plastic, tag, and soil inventory and communicate when inventory is low
Assist Head Grower with shipping, pulling orders, checking for proper order fulfillment and quality
Must be able to always work two steps ahead of employees
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Must have greenhouse/nursery experience or experience in a related field of horticulture or construction. A formal education is not required. Ideal candidate must be a fast learner, able to work long hours during peak months, have a positive attitude and the ability to communicate in Spanish preferred.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Knowledge of common ornamental plant names. Be able to carry out tasks in a proficient manner whether it be working independently or managing a group of employees. Multitasking should be second nature in addition to the ability to problem solve. Candidate should be able to run basic Microsoft Programs and communicate via phone and email. Must be able to lift 50lbs. Must be able to work in hot, cold, wet and humid conditions. Most importantly the ideal candidate should be a team player who likes to manage and lead a team.
