Superior Skilled Trades is seeking Safety Officer for project in Wallops Island, VA.
PAY: $22 - $25 per hour (Based on Experience)
HOURS: 40 Hours per week
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday , 7am-3:30pm
DURATION: 6+ months
START DATE: ASAP
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SAFETY OFFICER:
Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify safety hazards and ensure compliance with occupational safety and health regulations.
Review and enforce safety protocols, procedures, and policies to prevent accidents and injuries.
Provide guidance and training to construction workers on proper safety practices and protocols.
Investigate accidents, incidents, or near-misses to determine root causes and recommend preventive measures.
Prepare detailed reports documenting inspection findings, violations, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with project managers, supervisors, and workers to address safety concerns and implement effective safety measures.
Stay current with industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices.
Conduct safety audits and risk assessments to identify potential risks and develop risk mitigation strategies.
Participate in safety meetings and communicate safety-related information to project teams.
Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure its availability and proper use on-site.
REQUIREMENTS FOR SAFETY OFFICER:
Must be OSHA 30 certified
Proven experience as a Safety Inspector or similar role in the construction industry.
In-depth knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and standards (OSHA, ANSI, etc.).
Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
Problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement corrective actions.
Proficiency in safety inspection tools and software.
Physical fitness and ability to conduct site inspections and walk long distances.
Additional Requirements:
Must be eligible to work in the United States
Must be able to pass background check & drug test
Must have reliable transportation to the job site
