Specialized Engineering seek full time entry-level or experienced Construction Materials Testing Field Technicians to work on-site at contract locations throughout Frederick/ Baltimore/ DC Metropolitan region. Technicians ensure materials on the project meet standards required by Engineering plans and specifications.
Responsibilities include:
-Conducting tests and field observations for construction materials including, soil, concrete, asphalt, reinforcing steel, foundations and masonry.
-Documenting field inspection reports daily.
-In addition to performing duties as a quality assurance inspector on construction sites.
Work includes performing field density testing of construction materials (soil and asphalt), sampling and testing of concrete (slump, temperature, air content and unit weight) and fabricating concrete test cylinders and recording results.
Successful candidates will:
-Possess outstanding attention to detail
-Exhibit strong oral and written communication skills
-Be required to read, understand, follow-directions and accurately document collected data
-Be able to lift up to a 60 pound load
-Have a valid drivers license, good driving record, reliable and independent transportation

Entry level positions available. Candidates with construction experience, Civil Engineering or geology experience are encouraged to apply.
Prior Experience, or background in construction and Engineering work, and ACI/NICET/WACEL/MARTCP/VDOT/WVDOH certifications are a plus, but not required.
Hired candidates will be required to pass various industry-related exams for certifications.
