Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented CAD Drafter to join our Design Team in the role of Project Designer. The ideal candidate is eager to grow in the field, expand their knowledge of residential construction and architecture, and contribute meaningfully as part of a collaborative team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a creative and motivated individual to play a key role in dynamic home remodeling projects from initial concept through final completion.
Responsibilities: As a Project Designer, you will be responsible for some or all of the following:
Accompany a Remodeling Consultant on initial site visits to evaluate potential projects. During these visits, you will document client objectives, capture essential measurements and photos, and work with the consultant to identify structural elements and potential design challenges.
Collaborate with the Design Team to develop visually compelling concepts that align with client goals and company standards.
Research municipal regulations and building codes to identify any project restrictions or requirements.
Produce As-Built and Proposed CAD models to clearly communicate design solutions.
Present design concepts to clients and document their feedback.
Refine design models based on client input to ensure the final solution meets their needs and vision for their home.
Prepare finalized designs as submittal and construction drawings for permitting and jurisdictional approval.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with BIM software—such as Chief Architect, Home Designer, or Revit—is preferred.
Proficiency in CAD drafting programs like AutoCAD, SketchUp, or 2020.
1–5 years of architectural design and space-planning experience.
Ability to read and assemble construction drawings is a plus.
Strong understanding of drafting standards and best practices.
Basic knowledge of residential construction methods and materials.
Excellent communication and time-management skills.
Reliability and punctuality for scheduled appointments.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and a good sense of design aesthetics.
