OverviewWe are seeking a passionate, responsible and customer-oriented Barista to join our team. As a Barista, you will play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers while expertly preparing and serving high-quality beverages and food items. Your ability to engage with customers and provide exceptional service will contribute to an enjoyable experience that keeps them coming back.Duties Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and food items according to established recipes and standards. Operate the Toast POS system for processing transactions efficiently and accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including equipment, utensils, and seating areas. Engage with customers to take orders, provide recommendations, and ensure satisfaction with their experience. Handle cash transactions responsibly, ensuring accurate cash handling practices. Assist in inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages as needed. Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the safe preparation and handling of food items. Pay $15 per hour plus tips Qualifications Previous experience in the food service or coffee industry is preferred but not required. Ability to learn fast and multitask in one of the busiest coffee shops in Frederick County. Familiarity with retail math concepts for accurate cash handling and sales reporting. Knowledge of food safety practices is essential. Ability to operate POS systems; experience with Toast POS is a plus. Strong communication skills with an emphasis on customer service. Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as well as show up on time and prepared to stay busy. We look forward to you applying!
