Job Summary
Maryland Pediatric Care is looking to hire a full time motivated, dynamic and hard-working Pediatric Physician Assistant (PA) for our growing pediatric practice in Germantown, MD. PA will evaluate and treat patients for routine checkups and sick visits while fostering high quality patient care in a safe professional and efficient manner.
Requirements:
Graduated from an accredited PA program.
Current license (ability/eligible to obtain license) to practice as a PA or in Maryland (board certification).
Must secure Maryland CDS and DEA licenses.
Job/Duties:
Greeting patients, History taking and gathering medical information.
Ordering & interpreting Labs, diagnostic tests including imaging, & referrals to specialist.
Patient examination and treatment:
Sick child visits.
Well checkups, Sports Physical & Consultations.
Pre-operative examination/clearance.
Educating/counseling patients/families about immunization recommendations as per CDC and AAP guidelines.
Assisting in vaccine compliance efforts by reviewing immunization records at every visit and addressing overdue vaccinations with the families.
Provide recommendations regarding ancillary services to benefit patients overall health and wellness.
Verifying medications and allergies at every office visit.
Maintain patient confidentiality following HIPAA.
Complete progress notes and coding at the end of each office visit.
Consult with the physician as needed for care management and differential diagnosis.
Oversee medical assistants/nurse to ensure assigned staff has completed all age appropriate and/or condition appropriate screening, lab tests, vaccines, and chart documentation.
Support VFC requirements for the practice ensuring compliance with VFC regulations.
other additional duties assigned to provide and support clinical care.
