EchoStar has an exciting opportunity in our Hughes Network Systems division for a Materials Engineering (Aviation) Intern . This position will be located at our manufacturing/operations facility in Germantown, MD .Responsibilities :
Support supplier management activities and incoming commodity inspections.
Create Certificate of Conformance (CofC) summaries for sign-off and submittal to customers.
Organize files for storing into aviation related applications (FAI, CofC work).
Shadow Materials Engineers to support everyday activities including root cause and corrective action activities.
Basic Requirements:
Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program pursuing a degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
3.0 GPA or above
60 credit hours or more by start of internship, June 2025
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of electronic & mechanical components.
Experience with precision measurement equipment (micrometer, calipers, gauges, DMM’s).
Aptitude to work closely with SMT assembly line and supporting failure resolutions.
Experience using 3rd party software packages (Net-Inspect, QT9, Silicon Expert, Minitab, GIDEP & ERP/SAP).
Proficiency working with Microsoft Office Suite(Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Familiarity with IS09001/AS9100 quality principles is a plus.
