Description:The Nurse in Charge/Nurse Supervisor (NIC) is a designated clinical leader for a patient care area who works under the supervision of and in collaboration with the Department Director to plan and coordinate care at the service/department level.Responsibilities:This position is responsible and accountable for:

Cost effective decision-making regarding operations including utilization and application of resources. (i.e., human resources, patient care environment, supplies, etc.)

Directing and supervising professional and non-professional staff

Determining staff assignment and scheduling

Assuring compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards.

Participating in the development of patient care standards and delivery of care processes.

Facilitating and participating in staff development, including orientation and training.

Participating in performance evaluation and management including verbal coaching and counseling.

Participating in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the quality improvement and safety plan.

Maintaining a clinical environment that demonstrates service excellence.

Functioning as a professional role model and resource person.

What you will need:

Current licensure by the Maryland State Board as a Registered Nurse

BLS certification (issued through the American Heart Association)

Bachelor’s in Nursing required; Master's degree in nursing preferred

Minimum of 3 years of specialty specific experience in an acute care setting.

Advanced computer skills to include data entry and retrieval, including Microsoft specialty products.

Reads, writes, speaks and comprehends English language.

Ability to effectively communicate complex and comprehensive information thoroughly and succinctly.

Pay Range: $42.20 – 61.00Pay is based on experience, skills and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
