Master Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining executable production plans based on historical demand trends and expected changes in demand for all aspects of manufacturing at the plant. The Master Scheduler will develop the tools and processes to support master planning on a 30-day horizon. The Master Scheduler will coordinate cross functionally with various resources on supply and production activities for material requirements, production schedules, due dates, worker-hours required for production operations, status of work in progress, and shop capacity. Expected to work under the limited supervision of a senior staff member and may be assigned as a lead. What will you be doing as a Master Scheduler?

Develop and maintain a 30-day planning horizon for raw material and resource planning.

Create weekly production plans, and produces a 5 day detailed production schedule for the various operations in the plant; coordinate material availability with customer service

Optimize plant production efficiency by developing and implementing balanced production plans and leveled schedules.

Coordinate production requirements on a daily/weekly basis with each operation in the plant

Analyze production specifications and plant capacity data and performs calculations to determine daily capacity and bottlenecks. Provide suggestions to resolve bottlenecks; identifies areas where demand may exceed rough-cut capacity.

Provide effective communication of the production plan between internal stakeholders - sales, customer service, procurement and production. Work with customer service to resolve priorities regarding customer orders and to provide updates if orders will not meet due dates.

Expedite jobs in progress, monitors, records, and reports on the status of production activities. Identifies and resolves workload discrepancies and problem areas. Prepares documentation and inputs to management information systems to support workloads.

Conduct available to promise analysis and establish scheduled ship dates on all customer orders.

Conduct scenario analysis, recovery plans, and coordinate new product introductions and end of life make planning balancing inventory and demand requirements.

Review the relevant customer commitments and performance metrics.

Work with other areas of the Supply Chain to provide accurate MRP.

Ensuring alignment between MPS and sales order/contract requirements

Track production to schedule to ensure meeting committed delivery dates.

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:

Project Management experience

Experienced in production methods and procedures, materials management, and planning for the future or immediate production control for overhaul or repair of complex products.

Experienced in alleviating and solving complex production delays, scheduling conflicts, lack of sufficient materials, and other complex production variables.

Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a planner, scheduler, production control, or buyer within a manufacturing environment.

Minimum of 5 years’ experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), specifically Microsoft Dynamics AX

Must be comfortable developing production plans in an environment where sophisticated MRP and Supply Chain Planning systems do not exist

Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.

Good attention to detail.

Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Things we consider a plus:

Experience with capacity requirements, and planning is a plus

Bedding Manufacturing experience is a plus

Completed Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain or related field
