The Role

We are transforming technology and creating a digital evolution that will empower Centene to better serve our members. The Manager, Cyber Security Operations Center will manage department staff including hiring, performance management and career development to ensure alignment with defined goals.

As a Manager, Cyber Security Operations Center you will:

• Plan and direct the daily activities of a team focused on a particular system or technology.


• Liaison with managers in IT and other functions, applying standard solutions and processes.


• Apply specific technical expertise in depth to address technical and business issues

Additionally you will bring:

• Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience.


• 5+ years of experience in Security Operations (SOC) or Incident Response


• 3+ years of experience leading teams, recruiting, and developing talent


• Prior experience leading highly technical teams


• Prior experience in automating SOC functions using SOAR or other methods


• Ability to act as player coach for technical teams, lead SME for the SOC, and as lead incident commander for critical incidents


• Ability to prioritize work to manage security operations' projects while running daily operations


• Ability to identify process improvement opportunities and measure effectiveness and efficiency of operations using metrics


• Ability to identify, prioritize and execute automation opportunities in the SOC by working with engineering teams


• Ability to coach, provide guidance and support Senior and Principal level Analysts


• Excellent verbal and written communications


• Previous experience as a lead in a functional area, managing cross functional teams on large scale projects or supervisory experience including hiring, training, assigning work and managing the performance of staff.
