This is a hands-on technical role that is responsible for supervising the team supporting End User Computing (EUC) Mobile Devices and other Endpoints, including but not limited to mobile phones, Tablets, Windows Based PC endpoints and telephony. This position will be responsible for Mobile Device Management software as well. In addition to ensuring technical stability and best in class service for above mentioned platforms, perform Team Leadership duties focused on developing team members, managing day to day support tasks (Ticket Escalations), and allocating project resources.Travel possibly overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Perdue facility or to a remote site for disaster recovery, industry conferences, or training.Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Communicate and develop staff to correct issues and implement new features or services. Develop IT staff to help evolve/enhance EUC Services. Develop training and operational standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Recruit, hire, and develop qualified staff to achieve the department’s objectives, and develop a qualified backup and successor.
Use a hands-on approach to work closely to achieve objectives that include effective security and operating systems patching for all desktop computing assets
Ensure that the Objectives of customer/supplier relationships are met or exceeded for all application supported by the End User Computing team
Develop and implement roadmap objectives focused on improving IT processes to decrease/maintain cost and emphasize automation of administrative tasks to improve responsiveness to business demands.
Monitor the use of applications and subsystems to forecast the need for additional resources and ensure proactive response for all issues
Design, implement, and maintain the architecture of the Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Design, implement, and maintain network control systems as they relate to end-user computing
Ensure backup and disaster recovery plans are valid, documented thoroughly, tested regularly, and implemented consistently
Mentor junior team members on MDM, system management and control systems, and desktop technologies
Function as part of a team of consisting of IT personnel, user department personnel, selected outside vendors, and customers
Create or maintain accurate documentation for all systems and projects supported by the End User Computing team
Deliver projects on time and within budget that meet or exceed original requirements
Comply with all departmental policies and procedures, including Software Asset Management
Minimum Education and RequirementsREQUIRED: Four-year college degree, with studies in Information Systems or Computer Science, or 4-5 years of relevant experience.3 – 5 years of IT experience in similar or larger organization with the following skills/experience
Minimum 3 years’ experience working as an information technology professional in both a system design and support capacity
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with 32 and 64-bit Windows desktop operating systems (Windows 7 and higher).
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in both design and support capacity with Microsoft Office products (Office 2016 and higher) and Office 365 cloud solutions
Minimum 1 years’ experience working with Mobile Device Management systems
Experience with software distribution (e.g. SCCM, BigFix) tools for managing endpoint devices
Excellent root-cause problem diagnosis and resolution skills, including exceptional customer interaction and people management ability
Flexibility to work outside of a comfort zone and continuously learn/support new hardware and software technologies
Strong communication, knowledge transfer, team orientation, and documentation skills
Candidate must have effective and accurate written and oral communication skills to communicate problems to users, peers, management, customers, and external vendors
Able to travel possibly overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Perdue facility or to a remote site for disaster recovery, industry conferences, or training.
PREFERRED:
Minimum 3 years’ experience designing and supporting desktop technologies to include PCs, Mobil Device Management (MDM), and imaging & patching infrastructure.
Minimum 3 years’ experience working with Windows Server operating systems (Versions 2008 and higher).
Experience with project management
Best practices design knowledge for Microsoft active directory and network services, and VMware virtual desktop infrastructure
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
Ability to travel, possibly overnight, to any customer area, which could be any Perdue facility or to a remote site for disaster recovery, industry conferences, or training.
Ability to work in a climate-controlled office environment.
Ability to work in an open-partitioned cubicle environment or a poultry processing facility.
Ability to communicate via telephone.
Ability to come to the Main Office if off-hour support cannot be resolved over the telephone.
Ability to operate a computer terminal and a workstation, using a keyboard, mouse and reading a monitor.
Able to remain stationary up to 8 hours per day.
