This position reports to Plant Operations Manager
Responsibilities:
Monitor and maintain facility's boilers, chillers, air handlers, pumps, and related systems equipment.
Perform all Maryland state codes require equipment daily testing and manipulations.
Make routine shift tours of facility's mechanical rooms.
Perform corrective and preventative maintenance as required.
Install, test, and repair equipment according to standard practices set forth by the trade, State, and local government safety regulations.
Change and/or adjust all equipment system related to maintaining building climate control. Also maintain all associated equipment controlled by Plant Operations department.
What you will need:Required:
Maryland Grade 1 Engineer License
Possess at least ONE of the following qualifications listed in numbers 1-5:
5 years of documented experience as an active MD Grade 2 under the direction and control of a licensed MD Grade 1.
1 year of credit for 6 credit hours or CEU's in boiler safety or operations; AND
1 year of credit for holding a current active license as a:
Master Plumber
Master Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration contractor
Master restricted Heating, Ventilation, and Air-Conditioning contractor
4-year Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited university or college Licensure as a Professional Engineer, including
1 year of documented experience as a professional engineer; AND
1 year of documented experience as a MD Grade 2 under the direction and control of a MD Grade 1.
A valid Marine Engineer's certificate or Chief Petty Officer's certificate from the United States Navy with documentation of steam boiler engineer training. Equivalent experience to 1, 2, 3 or 4 above may be submitted to the Board for consideration and approval. Requires judgment and independent action in determining operating conditions of equipment and in making repairs, and meeting emergency situations all within limits of standard practice.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Ability to understand and manipulate systems computers.
Capable of reading, understanding, and interpreting blueprints.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Weekend work and shift rotation is required.
Pay Range: $32.12 - $48.18Pay is based on experience, skills, and education. Exempt positions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) will be paid within the base salary equivalent of the stated hourly rates.
