Commandant Assistant
Large organization located in Piney Point, MD is looking for an Assistant Commandant to join our team. We are an apprenticeship program for adults wanting to start a career in the maritime industry (civilians working aboard ships). Being an assistant commandant at this paramilitary maritime school holds a pivotal leadership role responsible for the overall motivation, training, discipline, and administration of the school’s apprentices. In this position you will develop and refine protocols, and work as part of a collaborative team to ensure the safety and suitability of apprentices. You will serve as a role model and mentor to apprentices, providing guidance on personal conduct, academic performance, and career aspirations. There will also be opportunities to travel; representing the school in community events and union activities, promoting the school’s mission and values.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire others, with strong decision-making and problem-solving capabilities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, proficient at conveying complex information to diverse audiences. Prior military, police, or security preferred, but not required.
Schedule is as follows: Mon-Wed, Sat-Sun, 6am-2:30pm. Position requires holiday and weekend work. We offer an excellent benefits package. Compensation is $43,680k-52,000k / year.
