RN/LPN INSTRUCTORS NEEDED

Lexington Healthcare Training Institute of St. Mary's County is reopening and seeking RN/LPN instructors.

Private Training school is seeking a experienced, dependable, and knowledgeable RN to assist with instructing our CNA/GNA course located in Lexington Park, Maryland 20653.

Credentials:

Active RN License

Background Check

PPD or Chest X-ray

Valid ID and Social Security Card

CPR/First aide

Requirements:

There will be a 3-day training with a panel of instructors and expert leaders prior to starting.

Must have at-least 1 year of Long- term care experience within 3 years in a Nursing Home Setting.

Strong communication and documentation skills.

Must be Able to deliver information in a manner which the adult learner who has never been to a healthcare program can understand and process.

Must be able to operate Power point

Must Able to follow state approved curriculum

Duties/Qualifications:

Has knowledge of HIPPA Regulations.

Maintains all mandatory in-service training.

Assists with the orientation process to enable caregivers to adjust to the field setting.

Assists in the orientation and skill development of new staff members.

Provides instruction to facilitate growth and movement.

Completes appropriate notes/documentation as required.

Effectively trains healthcare professionals on work techniques and methods appropriate to the assigned contract/client.

Stays current and adheres with all regulations regarding safety, licensure and quality expectations.

Addresses visitors, employees and co-workers in a pleasant and respectful manner, displays courtesy at all times.

Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with a variety of staff members, regardless of varied ethnic, racial and sociological backgrounds.

Demonstrates the ability to interact with others in a professional and helpful manner.

Demonstrates reliability and dependability in attendance and punctuality.

The Instructor will instruct students according to the curriculum designed to assist students to build knowledge and clinical skills aimed at passing the licensing exam for Maryland CNA.

Assist students in registering for the Maryland State CNA licensing exam.

The instructor must possess the ability to work with students from different socioeconomic and educational backgrounds.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Teach the course curriculum as outlined in the manual entitled The Nurse Assistant in a Long-Term Care Facility, produced by the Instruction Materials Laboratory. Instructors shall also use the companion instructor’s guide.

Build knowledge and develop clinical skills aimed at assisting students to obtain the CNA license

Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to attendance records, schedules and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content

Evaluate and document students’ progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained

Communicate effectively with students, and all those affiliated with the course, including staff at clinical training facilities, CTC staff, and prospective employers

Provide a stimulating environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and concepts of good patient care

Maintain a monthly time sheet and turn in at required deadlines

Perform all other duties as assigned by the Project Director
