Fire & Safety Manager
Large organization located in Piney Point, MD has a full time Fire & Safety Instructor position open. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: directing the work force associated with Fire School operations, assist in designing work schedules, responsible for day to day operations, overseeing the Fire and Safety instructional staff, assist in the designing and implementation of fire and safety courses, serving as on call person in all matters related to fire and safety operations, adhering to the policies and procedures of the School and the School’s QSS, travel is required on an as need basis, instructing as needed and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for this position are: 5-7 years of firefighting and medical experience, Train the Trainer certification (will provide), degree in Fire Science preferred or equivalent experience. First aid and CPR/AED instructor certification, paramedic certification preferred, working knowledge of firefighting, first aid, emergency medical care, hazardous materials, confined spaces, advanced life support, damage control experience is preferred but not required and annual respirator fit test required and be able to obtain instructor approval from the US Coast Guard. The candidate must work effectively with students of various educational levels, ages, and ethnicities. Must be able to lift over 50 pounds, proficient in public speaking, excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work well with others, good organizational skills and professional integrity.
