Position: Line Cook
Location: 12600 Croom Rd, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
MUST BE AVAILABLE SATURDAYS AND SUNDAYS
General Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
1–3 years of cooking experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen
Ability to follow instructions and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Culinary school education or certification preferred, but not required
Specific Skills and Qualifications:
Experience:
Prior experience in a restaurant or commercial kitchen is highly valued
Culinary Knowledge:
Solid understanding of cooking techniques, ingredients, and kitchen equipment
Food Safety:
Knowledge of food safety regulations and sanitation practices is essential
ServSafe certification is preferred not required
Knife Skills:
Proficiency in using knives and preparing ingredients accurately and efficiently
Teamwork:
Strong ability to work collaboratively in a busy, team-oriented kitchen
Physical Stamina:
Capable of standing for long periods and lifting heavy items as needed
Time Management:
Excellent time management and ability to work under pressure
Organizational Skills:
Maintaining a clean and organized workstation is vital for safety and efficiency
Communication Skills:
Ability to follow instructions and communicate effectively with other cooks and kitchen staff
Education and Training:
Culinary training or certification in culinary arts is beneficial
On-the-job training is often provided and valuable for skill development
