Responsible for transporting items to and from our production floors and the warehouse areas as needed by way of mobile equipment use.Mobile equipment use includes electric pallet jack, reach truck/standing forklift, pallet inverter and a walkie-stacker. A manual pallet jack may also be used when needed.
Responsible for delivering all production supplies to designated locations.
Performs physical and/or administrative tasks involved in the shipping, receiving, storing, distributing and order fulfillment of merchandise, products, materials, parts, supplies and equipment.
Checks goods received and for distribution against purchase orders or invoices, maintains records of goods and rejects unsatisfactory items.
Responsible for cycle counting activities Packages and prepares products and merchandise for final shipment and posts weights and shipping charges.
Must have forklift certification.
Prepares and maintains records of merchandise shipped.
Reviews customer orders, examines, stocks and distributes merchandise, products and materials in inventory warehouses, distribution centers or manufacturing lines. Identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves basic issues associated with material/warehouse operations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Performs administrative and physical tasks involved in shipping, receiving, storing, staging and supplying materials (raw, work-in-process and finished goods), parts and supplies, to operators, workstations and distribution center
May prepare goods for shipment to the distribution center
Complete all necessary SAP Training to obtain the necessary profiles
May be responsible for ordering required materials from outside vendors and offload all deliveries from outside vendors and do goods receipts for the deliveries
Physically locate the materials in the warehouse and then perform transactions in SAP to locate them in the system
Do bin to bin transfers for all moves from the warehouse to the PSA’s
Hand load carts/racks equipment and deliver to production areas
Run Material Staging in SAP
May evaluate all production schedules and determine materials needed from outside vendors
Maintain required levels of materials in the various PSA’s
Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Disassembles used or faulty equipment and cleans each component of the unit thoroughly, reassembles each component, wraps and codes all according to IMWs.
Responsible for rotating dated equipment and raw materials following established procedure.
Monitors PPE supplies to ensure sufficient availability in order to complete tasks.
Works with and coordinates with other shifts to maintain sufficient and correct amount of clean equipment and proper condition of work area.
Clean, sanitize and inspect the production tote bins per established IMWs
Must follow all BD housekeeping policies and procedures
Must follow all BD safety policies and procedures
Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
Perform other duties as required
QualificationsMinimum Education/Experience:
High school degree with 2 years’ experience in a shipping environment with warehouse experience strongly preferred
Previous work experience with the use of material handling equipment (pallet jacket, forklift, shrink wrapper) – must be able to obtain in-house fork truck certification.
Valid forklift driver’s license required
Basic Skills:
Ability to work on assignments that are manual and routine in nature with the skill to recognize any deviations from specification
Clean, sanitize and inspect the production tote bins per established IMWs
Can effectively work in a team setting and communicate effectively across the department
Must be able to maintain neat, accurate and complete records and logs, both manually and/or electronically on a personal computer
Must be able to effectively manage frequent assignment changes
Ability to operate material handling equipment including manual and electrical pallet jacks and walkie-stacker lift and automated floor scrubber.
Proficient/Working Skills:
Must be proficient in English with the ability to read, write, analyze/evaluate charts, follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
Basic proficiency with PCs (Personal Computers) and basic use of Windows environment is required
Use independent judgment to plan, perform, make decisions, troubleshoot and problem solve
Must be able to work in a repetitive work environment and be able to stand for long periods of time
Additional Qualifications:
Must be able to stand, walk and climb stairs 50% to 95% of the workday.
Ability to operate material handling equipment including manual and electrical pallet jacks and walkie-stacker lift
Must be capable of passing the physical examination for forklift operations and respirator fit test.
Routine use of Safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, respirators and hearing protection may be required. Must be used if required.
Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
Ability to operate automated floor scrubber
Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements
2nd Shift Production Schedule - 8-hr./5-day work week
