Description We are in search of a Medical Billing Specialist to join our team in Glen Burnie, Maryland, United States. The selected candidate will be part of a dynamic environment, actively contributing to the healthcare industry. This role offers a contract to hire employment opportunity, focusing on maintaining accurate billing records, processing patient applications, and resolving Patient inquiries.Responsibilities: Ensure accurate processing of customer credit applications in a timely manner Maintain detailed and accurate customer credit records Address customer inquiries, providing excellent customer service Monitor customer accounts and take necessary actions as needed Verify billing accounts with accounts receivable ledger, ensuring all payments are accounted for and properly posted Address and resolve any billing discrepancies Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe Work cross-functionally with other departments such as EDI/claims, charge coordinator, cash applications specialist, and patient advocate Ensure timely response and resolution of all denials/rejections based on assigned accounts Develop open communications with peers, management, and other departmental areas for the purpose of sharing valuable information for the company Keep track of coding changes to ensure that most current information is available Communicate all issues or potential issues to leadership Understand and follow KPI standards, SOPs/Policies, and procedures related to the position and Revenue Cycle Management compliance and payer standards Perform required system entries for claim/encounter information.Requirements Possession of proficiency in Allscripts and Cerner Technologies Familiarity with Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE) and EHR SYSTEM Experience with Epaces and Accounts Receivable (AR) Knowledge of Appeals, Benefit Functions, and Billing Functions Understanding of Claim Administration and Accident Insurance Competency in Eligibility Verification and Insurance Referrals - Verifications Experience in Insurance Verifications and Medical Insurance Verification Ability to Verify Insurance, Verify Insurance Benefits, Verify Insurance Coverage, Verify Invoices, and Verify Patient Solid Data Entry skills including Computer Data Entry and High-Volume Data Entry Capability to perform Insurance Follow-up Proven Customer advocacy skills along with Customer Service and Customer service software proficiency Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record and EMR (Electronic Medical Records) Must have experience with Medical Billing Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
