Description
We need someone who excels at coming up with creative solutions to technical issues. Robert Half is seeking a Help Desk Analyst to accommodate field users in an ever-changing, active environment with a company in the Education field. This may be the Help Desk Analyst position for you, if you have strong problem-solving skills and a passion for making effective change within an organization. This Help Desk Analyst role is located in the Amherst, Massachusetts area and is a long-term contract / contract / contract / temporary opportunity.
Your responsibilities in this role
- Spot recurring technical issues and deploy solutions to address the root of the problems
- Independently investigate and implement solutions to technical issues
- Provide IT assistance for operating systems, productivity software, and a variety of other software applications used internally
- Provide solutions and follow up on technical help tickets submitted via phone, email, and walk-ups
Requirements
- Experience with IT support ticketing systems
- User administration and bug fixing in a client-server environment
- 2+ years of prior experience
- Adeptness in Microsoft Windows
- Solid understanding of Computer System
- Prior experience with Network+
- Comptia Network+ experience preferred
- File Sharing experience required
- General familiarity with Mac OS X
- Network+ experience desired
- Mac Computers experience highly preferred
- Group Policy experience highly valued
- Demonstrated knowledge of Mac OS
- Hands-on experience with Comptia A+
- Practical knowledge of Mac OS
- Experience with TCP/IP
- Windows Workstation experience
- Background working with Tier 1 Support
- Earlier work involving Tier 2 Support
- Comprehension of Active Directory
- Good understanding of Tier 1 Support
- Previous experience working with Tier 2 Support
- Deep understanding of Workstation Support
- PC desktop/workstations experience highly desired
- Firm grasp of basic networking concepts
- Proven experience in installing and configuring operating systems, networked and local printers, and business applications
- Creative problem solver who anticipates risks and opportunities and maintains a vision for continuous improvement
