Part time child care and light housework for a cheerful, loving 8 year old in East
Arlington.
Responsibilities:
Pick up from school and short walk home
Taking child to activities (circus, dance, music), local playgrounds, supervising playdates
Prepare snack (daily) and dinner (usually 3x week) for child
Occasionally taking child to PT/OT and other appointments (typically
2x/month)
Managing child laundry; occasionally switching household laundry such as
sheets/towels
Tidying up after activities; tidying child’s bedroom and play room (including
child in clean up)
Comfort with administering nasal spray seizure rescue medicine (seizures
occur very infrequently)
Having a license is required; having your own vehicle is a plus. Experience with
child PT and OT is a plus; comfort working with and supporting a child who has a
physical disability is a requirement.
Schedule:
At a minimum need someone 2:30-5:30 on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday and
from 1-5:30 on Wednesday (totaling 13.5 hours); additional hours, including Friday,
are available up to around 20 hours a week; at the high end that would include time
before school is out and some additional (still light) housework responsibilities.
Additional hours may be available during school vacations if desired, but would
never be required.
Benefits:
$25-30/hour commensurate with experience; payroll is handled through a
third party provider to manage deductions and taxes
3 weeks of PTO prorated to typical schedule
We pay for any typically scheduled days when we don’t need child care

We have two cats
Both parents work from home 3-4 days a week and would be available in the
event of an emergency. We really like popping out of our offices to say hi to
our child when we are taking a break, but prefer that child initiated
interruptions are kept to a minimum
