Ward 8 is looking for an Executive Chef. You’ll be stepping into a stable, smooth-running operation with systems already in place, and we’re looking for a leader who can continue that standard. Our kitchen is well-organized, and many of our cooks have been with us for years. Our ideal next Chef will be able to lead a seasoned team, maintain quality and consistency, and keep the kitchen running at a high level during service and beyond. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys cooking on the line or expo, working alongside a strong crew.
Ward 8 is a neighborhood restaurant and cocktail bar located just outside the North End near the TD Garden, featuring American cuisine, classic cocktails, and local craft beer. We are very busy pre/post games and with the neighborhood crowd, especially in the fall, winter, and spring seasons.
Responsibilities will include:
Lead a long-standing, experienced kitchen team with professionalism and clear communication
Work the line/expo during high-volume periods, maintaining speed and quality
Place weekly and daily orders with vendors
Oversee inventory and ensure accurate stock levels
Maintain food cost and labor cost targets
Uphold organization, cleanliness, and existing kitchen systems
Collaborate with ownership and management on menu updates and improvements
