THE POSITION SUMMARY:
Cashier
Patina Restaurant Group is looking for a Cashier to facilitate all transactions using acceptable methods of payment of their restaurant. Cashiers will collaborate with dining room staff and must keep track of all orders. The ideal representative is able to utilize a calculator, computer, and point of sale system, telephone, and other office equipment. This individual must be able to validate methods of payment, complete transactions, provide documentation and receipts, and dispense the accurate amount of change if needed. THE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change.
Collaborate with dining room, service, and kitchen staff to keep track of all orders and monetary situations/charges.
Scan items and ensure pricing is correct or resolve amount discrepancies; take money in the form of cash, credit card, check, QRC Card, or gift card and process accordingly.
Answer customers' questions and find a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue.
Clean up checkout area and keep organized; keep receipt paper and other stationary stocked.
Maintain accurate tabs on every restaurant tables' orders using the venue's primary POS system.
THE QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Six months related experience and/or training in a restaurant of similar capacity, volume, and clientele highly preferred.
Position requires sufficient knowledge to operate a calculator, computer, and point of sale system, telephone, and other office equipment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays in addition to normal business hours, as needed.
Possess polite and professional communication skills to relay information to guests and employees as needed.
Ability to take orders and adapt to situations and responsibilities, performing job functions at the highest possible standard.
